Instructions and Help about Army acquisition professionals course

Meet Dennis. I'm Staff Sergeant Denis Landry. He's a contract specialist here at Bagram RCC East, and he's been here in Afghanistan for a little while. I got here in January, so I've been here about four or five months now. He deals with a lot of the things we use around base. I normally do TV maintenance, non-tactical vehicle maintenance. I also do Internet and something a little dirty, janitorial type services. Though he has been working in contracting for some time, steady streams all day. I've been doing contracting for about four years now. I started back in 2009. He didn't start out his Air Force career there. I started out in satellite communications. I was with the 63rd Air Control Squadron, where he learned some important things. I learned a lot about myself and what it takes to be a good airman. I hit a five, and then I was subject to the NCO retraining program, and I chose contracting why? Because it has a bright future. His favorite part of the job is helping out small businesses and making sure that the warfighter gets the service and commodity or construction that they need. And so, as he gets ready to leave on this tale in, I'm just trying to make sure that everything's squared away for my next person that's replacing me and that the services continue. Our lives are made better because of the services he has helped provide. I'm Petty Officer Xander Gamble, Bagram, Afghanistan.
